The South Grafton Aerodrome has existed in various forms on the same location for the past 80 years. In November 2015, the lease from Crown Lands was transferred from the Clarence Valley Council to the South Grafton Aerodrome Aircraft Hangar Owners Association inc. (SGAAHO).
On 30/06/2018 the first 10 years of the Head lease expired and the Dept of Industry, (Crown lands) exercised the option to renew the lease for a further 10 years. The current Head lease is due to expire on 30/06/2028. It is leased directly to SGAAHO who administers the sub leased hangars.
